It's pretty thorny...nothing crazy, but quite a few sharp little thorns.

Heat tolerance is amazing. Currently in zone 10b/11...It's 110 degrees fehrenheit outside right now. No sun burn, or signs of heat stress. It's currently in a pot as it's still small, and I do water it every other day. But compared to most roses which definitely need to be shaded and watered twice daily at this time of year, Mel's Heritage is simply amazing.

How fast growing is PPP? If I were to buy a quart size, how long would it take to reach a big enough size that it would start flowering nicely?

How shade tolerant is this rose?

I grow it in 5 hours morning sun. Does fine there. Would not flower in total shade, I do not think, like nearly all roses.
