First year growing this rose, grafted from Palatine in my 8a hot and humid garden. I have it’s potted in a 20x18 planter and it has been a stand out this year. Foliage has stayed clean without spray and it has bloomed reliably. The buds are almost black, and open to a deep red. They do burn during the hot months, but I confess I actually like the two toned ruffled look that results. There is no consistent fragrance, although occasionally I catch a faint fleeting fruity fragrance when I burry my nose in the bloom. I am sad Palatine in discontinuing rose production as this one might get lost to commerce.

This is a true stand out in my garden. The blooms contrast well with the foliage and each is unique. The foliage has stayed clean except for an occasional black spot here or there on an isolated leaf. Easily dealt with by picking off the affected leaf. I don’t spray at all. The citrus fragrance from even a single bloom is pervasive and floats at least 10 feet from the plant. I have it in a large pot and the plant is grafted. It probably doesn’t bloom as much as it would if in the ground, but puts on a nice display each flush. Blooms past 2-3 days on the bush or in a vase for my 2nd year plant. (I garden in humid and hot 8a South Eastern United States)
