The best of Ruth Clements blooms, peachy in the middle, pink on the outer petals. Strong fruity fragrance. Planted in 2023 as a 1 year own root from Heirloom roses, grown in a pot in 6a.

Summer 2023. Huge, pink, and ruffly. Best scent of any rose in my garden.

Summer 2023. This is a body bag from Walmart, which I potted up, and bloomed its heart out all winter. All my potted roses died over the winter, so I just bought two more. The new ones will go in the ground so I can be sure they survive.

Cluster of Ruth Clements rose, planted in 2023 as a 1 year own root from Heirloom roses. Overwintered in a pot in my unheated garage, 6a. She was largely cane-hardy even in a pot, and her blooms are long-lasting and beautifully scented!

My 3rd year Julia Child - glossy leaves, bursting with buds now at the end of May (I counted approximately 70) and not a speck of black spot! She's planted right next to my rainspout and I never water her. My most freely blooming and continuously blooming rose.

Summer 2023. This is now one of my favorite roses ever. Until I got it, I thought this pale pink would be boring. I thought I didn't like ruffled roses, and I thought the US name was hideous. It won me over. The smell is amazing, it bloomed faithfully flush after flush, and even stood up to rain quite well! I will never be without this rose as long as I have a garden.

I bought 2 of these a few years back as the beginnerest of beginners and overpruned them their first year. They survived and give me a few gorgeous blooms that are worth the wait. The fragrance is unbelievable! I've never smelled a lovelier rose. The only complaint I have is that they make awful cut flowers, often wilting within the same day they were cut. On the bush they last better.
