Been gardening with my Mum since I was very small, but only recently became keen on my own account. Born and raised in a large-ish suburban city of NZ; moved out of town to a steep weed-infested exposed clay/rock quarry for couple years; now live on a flat, warm, 1acre (4000m2) rural block in a 10b zone of Northland, with frequent rainfall and the best soil I’ve ever seen or heard of. (This is better.) Now attempting to clean up & expand the lovely century-old gardens, plant an orchard and curate (?) the patch of native bush down the back. All involving roses! My mother is most amused.
