My second year with Desdemona. She bloomed continuously and late into the fall last year, though the Japanese beetles really tried to eat her up. This year, I am moving her to a partial shaded area where I hope the beetles won't get her. She's budding and getting ready to pop already!

Bought this in a pot at a big box store and I wasn't expecting much, but it pumped out those blooms all summer long. No problems with disease or mildew. A very happy rose. I'm tempted to plant it outside the pot this year to see what it can do next. It's quite a happy rose and the blooms are beautiful. Absolutely no black spot. No signs of disease. I think I got compliments on this rose more than on the more expensive or posh roses that I grow. I think it might be a good choice to fill in the beds around the taller roses, especially since most of my larger roses are so fragrant and it would be nice to have the color of this rose without the fragrance competing with others. The blooms aren't overly small either. But I'll have to add my pictures to help remember that. My biggest concern right now is how this rose will have survived this winter in a pot. I grouped it with the other above-ground roses along the south wall, with lots of insulation. But this winter in NC has been bitter and cold. Will see.
