Flawless really surprised me in it's second season. The first year in the ground, the blooms were flimsy and didn't have much fragrance. After heavy deer damage and winter dieback, it only had one 6 inch cane left. I thought about shovel pruning but decided to give it a chance. The bush recovered quickly and participated in the spring show with 9-10 blooms on new, sturdy canes about 18-24 inches tall. And the blooms were much improved- light pink/white with bright, citrusy fragrance and a very pretty spiral form that revealed tons of petals as it slowly opened. The blooms were about 3.5-4 inches and looked great in the vase. Zone 6a, loam, own-root plant.
