Morning May 17, 2025. Zone 9A humid/coastal. Own root planted last October. Sweet and citrus fragrance which tends to be stronger in the morning for me.

I’ve been growing this rose on its own roots since October 2024 in a large pot in zone 9a coastal/ humid South Carolina, USA. It has only gotten very mild black spot, no rust, no powdery mildew. Likes to change color a lot based on the weather. Has a lovely strong fragrance that I personally prefer compared to its neighbor Poets Wife. Opens extremely slowly in cooler weather. Has a tendency to ball if its petals get wet. Petals drop cleanly when it’s done blooming. I have noticed it gives a good amount of pollen but am unsure if it is good in breeding. Normal new growth is never red the foliage starts out light green then deepens to medium green. Habit is upright taller than wide with densely packed leaves and canes grow close together. Overall a lovely rose.

April 2025. Bloom starts out vibrant orange then fades to light pink. I planted this bush last October on its own roots and has been in a large pot in a coastal/ humid zone 9a South Carolina, USA. Quite healthy so far very mild blackspot, no powdery mildew, no rust. Mild fruity fragrance. Inner petals tend to stay upright even when fully open. Wish it was more productive but probably needs to mature more.
