The perfect purplish to dark pink fragrant rose. Great form, beautiful leaves, devine scent, vigorous and not too thorny. Wonder why Weeks didn't push this rose more. BUY IT!

The label on the rose bucket when I bought it on April 4 was "Grande Dame", with Weeks Roses listed as the grower.

The rose appears to be yellow in the center, turning a deep saturated pink with yellow to white centers as it ages. If it is inaccurate, it is in fact because it was mislabeled. I will watch and see how many more "Grande Dame" roses show up with the same characteristics. I am going back to the same nursery tomorrow, I will look. It also appears I'm the only one who has posted pics of Grande Dame. If you have one, would you please post pics so we can compare? The rose does in fact turn to a really dark saturated pink when it matures, and the yellow disappears.

thank you for your comments.

It is a pretty rose, whatever it is. Maybe you can check out the rest of the Weeks site and see if there is a match. I just saw Grand Dame for the first time this week and immediately purchased it. It looks a little like Yves Piaget. Very fragrant.

Well gang, this is a beautiful rose - and I verified at my nursery today, the others like this are still marked "Grande Dame" right next to the REAL Grande Dame. What a beautiful VERY PINK rose!! I will try to post the correct pic (I took my camera with me), and see what I can do about this incorrect one. I also now am stumped about which one it is. I found "Heart Of Gold" at that nursery, this rose has too much rust-red color to it.

Now I need to add to this - This rose I believe is Colorific. The description of Colorific fits this rose to a tee.

If you want to delete these photos from this listing (and I think you should), then do this:
Open the photo on its own page. At the top of the photo you will see a link that says "Edit Comments."
Open that link.
At the bottom of the page will be an option for "Delete." Voila.
Only the person who originally posted the photo can delete it.
