Re: Book on 'Scots Roses, Rosa spinosissima and other Pimpinellifolias'.by Peter Boyd, due to be published by the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and the Royal Horticultural Society.
HAS THIS BOOK BEEN PUBLISHED?
I have hunted high and low for it, not even the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh has replied to my question.

The description given of Rosa 'Peter Boyd' on HMF is incorrect. The flower colour is actually deep pink/purple with pale backs to the petals and it is reliably repeat-flowering from Spring until the first frosts. It is very close in appearance to a true Scots Rose with a high percentage of European Rosa spinosissima genes but repeat-flowering, unlike most Scots Roses. The parentage of Rosa 'Peter Boyd' given on HMF is incorrect and inconsistent with the appearance of this cultivar. The parentage given on HMF is not what I was told in confidence by Knud Pedersen. See also my article "Rosa ‘Peter Boyd’ and other repeat-flowering Rosa spinosissima cultivars" available online at academia.edu

Thank you, we have modified the description. The parentage was mentioned in the notes section with a question mark, as this information was available from a visit of Australian rosarians in Pedersen's nursery last year. If you have correct Information on the parentage we will be pleased to add it.
