Photo taken January 17, 2010, in the Southern California garden of Brent C. Dickerson. Hips on 'Snowbird' are an extreme rarity! In 40+ years of growing it, this is perhaps only the fourth one I've seen.

This extreme close-up of a flower, on a plant in the Southern California garden of Brent C. Dickerson, is provided to show that a blossom of 'Rose de Rescht' can serve (and has, for me, served) both as a male parent (note pollen) or a female parent (note stigmas). Hips with seeds do result from pollination of 'Rose de Rescht'. |
