A bed of Faith Whittlesey at Florida Southern College. This is six plants, two deep by three wide Notice that the pair on the far left is about 10 inches shorter than the other four, and that they have fewer flowers. This is an effect of root system -- the left pair is on its own roots, and the right four are on 'Fortuniana' roots. Under our conditions (hot, humid, semi-tropical), this is a typical effect. In cooler climates, own-root plants may do just as well. (any roses, not just this one)
