The cemetery contains varieties of roses, some of which few experts may have ever seen: a lovely rose, given the temporary moniker of “Flagpole Rose” and a once large plant named for the grave it protects, “Jose A. Africa,” and yet another mystery rose, “Mary Sellen’s Bourbon.”
