Bred by Thomas Smith (United Kingdom, circa 1900).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Daisy Hill Nursery in 1903 as 'Daisy Hill'.

Bloom:
Light pink, white center.  Strong fragrance.  Average diameter 2.25".  Medium, single to semi-double, borne mostly solitary, in small clusters bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Climbing.  

Height: 5' to 8' (150 to 245cm).  Width: up to 8' (up to 245cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Hardy.

An important parent rose.
Sets hips.
The San Jose Heritage Rose Garden says the breeder of Daisy Hill is Smith... and in Roll Call: The Old Rose Breeder, Brent C. Dickerson says the breeder is T. Smith, Daisy Hill Nursery.


The 2002 Catalogue from Pépinières Loubert also says the breeder is Smith and assigns a date of 1906. Jäger says breeder is Desportes.
