Introduced in United States by Jackson & Perkins Co. (post 1970) as 'Fragrant Rhapsody'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Mauve or purple blend.  Strong, damask, sweet fragrance.  35 to 40 petals.  Average diameter 4.5".  Large bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:

Height: 4' to 5' (120 to 150cm).  Width: 4' (120cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to blackspot .  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .

... characterized particularly by its red-purple color; vigorous, upright, well-branched growth; strong, damask rose like fragrance; dark green, glossy foliage; and good disease resistance... Blooming habit: Continuous... Average open bloom size is about 41/2 inches... Average stem length is about 16 to 20 inches... Number of petals under normal conditions: 35... Fragrance: Strong; damask (old rose scent)... Petals Lastingness: On the plant: Long (about seven days). As a cut flower: Long (about eight to nine days)... At maturity, height is five feet, width is four feet... Resistant to mildew and rust, susceptible to blackspot under normal growing conditions...
