Hybrid Perpetual Roses
Madame Victor Verdier. (E. Verdier, 1863.) Well-shaped, very double, cherry-crimson flowers of globular form, and very fragrant. Very vigorous and free-blooming, but scarcely ever blooms in late summer or fall.
In the height of the Hybrid Perpetual’s popularity, always referred to as a “superb Rose.” Reputed to be one of the parents of La France and, therefore, a direct ancestor of all the modern Roses.
