'AUSblush' rose Reviews & Comments

Report from eastern England, the sunnier drier side..
Very impressed with 'Heritage' in its first season, it simply took off right out of the gate.. and produced tall arching growth to 5 feet or so.. continuously in bloom, delicious scent on a very healthy bush - no spray - with an angular habit.. I've had to prune it back but it's suitable for pegging.. Blooms last about 3 days in cool conditions.. maybe less in heat.. I first grew this rose in 1986 so this is a revisit ..

There seems to be two versions of Heritage in USA, the predominant one being stingy, barely double, and infested with rose mosaic virus. I very much prefer its creamy flesh toned color sport “Rose-Marie” — much more floriferous, filled with petals, drought resistant and nigh impossible to kill!

I have Heritage in a full-sun spot here in zone10 Central Florida. She does well but blooms last no longer than one day.

I had the same experience years ago. I didn't keep it long.

I remember Heritage featured in a new English Rose garden in the late 80s in Austin Texas. It was this huge sprawling wild looking plant with small insignifcant flowers that crisped instantly in the heat. I had assumed the horticultural significance was that an Englishman had managed to cross a rose with crabgrass.

Ha! Hilarious. I take it this might not be the rose for a hot climate?
