Origin:
Bred by Domenico Aicardi (1878-1964) (Italy, before 1933).
Introduced in France by Marcel Robichon in 1936 as 'Saturnia'.
Introduced in United States by Jackson & Perkins Co. (Newark, NY) in 1936 as 'Saturnia'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea, Pernetiana.  
Bloom:
Scarlet, salmon-orange shading, golden-yellow undertones.  Moderate, fruity fragrance.  20 petals.  Very large, semi-double to double, cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Long, pointed buds.  
Habit:
Glossy, dark green foliage.  

Height: up to 2' (up to 60cm).  Width: up to 2' (up to 60cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
