Class:
Centifolia, Hybrid Perpetual.
Bloom:
Purple to violet. Strong fragrance. Very full (41+ petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, flat bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer.
Habit:
Height: 6' to 8'2" (185 to 250cm). Width: 4' to 5' (120 to 150cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b. Vigorous. Prune after flowering is finished. Prune lightly until this rose gets established (about two years), then prune it back by about a third.. This rose blooms on old wood.

Notes:
'Tour de Malakoff' was issued as a Hybrid Perpetual, although all later references state it is a centifolia. Original illustration of 1856 is wanted.
