Book (1939) Page(s) 76. R. Marion Hatton. An American Review of the New Roses A quintet of rather tender climbers came out of California last year, two of them, Capt. Thomas and Rose Anne, being posthumous varieties of the late Capt. George C. Thomas, jun. The former is a large single flower of deep primrose, becoming paler as it develops, blooming in clusters all through the season, while Rose Anne's buff apricot flowers are semi-double. They are both promising, but I doubt their hardiness in our climate.
