The Old Rosarian
Miniature roses always do better in a larger pot as they like to have their roots cool. As there are over 300 new roses introduced yearly, it is very hard to identify a rose accurately..

I know this thread is nearly 5 yrs old, however I too received a beautiful, small, red container rose in a plastic decorative pot for Mother's Day a few years ago. The pot was no more than 3-4 inches around. It wasn't doing well in the pot, so I planted it in the ground where it got morning shade and afternoon sun. It thrived beautifully. I planted alyssum around it and it was outstanding until we had our first big freeze. I never got the name of it though.

Dear european rosarians! Has anybody tried to grow this variety especially in the northern Europe, Baltic and Scandinavian countries? If yes, does it need winter protection?

Hello, this rose was introduced last year in Finland so it's little early to say, but we are following and waiting for first winter results.

Dear Jarmo, I'm excited to learn how A&B does for you over winter. It is comparable to 'William Baffin' here for winter hardiness. How does 'William Baffin' do for you?

Hello! I am growing this rose and have not used winter protection of any kind. Rose has good form, and has not suffered loss due to winter conditions, which in Finland can include massive to sometimes limited snowfall and occasional winters with brief but quite cold conditions. Our garden is located in southern Finland, which compares to a USDA hardiness of 5b/6a - although there have been a few winters since establishing the garden in 2016 with lows further than the 5b rating.
As mentioned in a previous comment - the rose was only introduced to Finland in 2019, which is likely when I acquired it. Hope this information is still relevant despite being several years after your initial query.

This is a fantastic rose. It gets to be around 5 feet x 4 feet wide and will grow happily in 70% shade. Disease-free, and a good repeat bloomer. The best part is that it is an EXTREMELY fragrant rose. If you can find it, get 2!
