Catherine's Rose
Deep to Mid Rose Pink Floribunda Exhibition name: Catherine's Rose Introduced in United Kingdom by R Harkness & Co. Ltd. in 2025 as 'Catherine’s Rose' Floribunda, Rose Type: Bush Rose
Subtle pink shades, coral-pink, mid to dark rose pink highlights. Strong fragrance, hints of mango and Turkish Delight.
Blooms in clusters of up to 15 flowers, medium to large bloom size, each flower measuring 8-12 cm across. By the looks of it, blooms are high centered and full with a petal count between 26-40 petals (note that this is a guesstimate, not confirmed by breeder and could differ). Flowers reveal stamens as blooms open, attract pollinators. Repeat Flowering, blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Height up to 100cm, spread/width up to 60cm.
Hardiness zone not disclosed, but mentioned to be fully hardy. Tried and tested in UK.
Suitable for: pots and containers, poor soil (all soil types), windy or exposed areas, full and partial sun. Is said to be “easy to grow in most garden situations, a result of our rigorous testing of new varieties where we [Harkness Roses] haven’t applied fungicides since 1994”. Can be used as a cut flower.
Named by RHS in honour of HRH Princess of Wales and chosen to support The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. For each sale a portion is donated to the charity.
