Harry H. Hazlewood. The New Roses of 1954. Bacchus HT. (Dickson, 1953). Long buds opening to semi-double to double pure red blooms which in summer have faded to lighter shades. It has moderate fragrance and with 25 to 30 petals and good growth should, on present performances, be a good garden exhibition variety.  It has evidently done well in England, as it received the N.R.S. Gold Medal in 1952.
