I revisited this rose. I actually like it a lot, but I have so many yellows in my own garden. At any rate, I decided to smell it, and its somewhere between moderate to strong.... but it was the scent type that struck me. LICORICE. Definitely not the citrus and fruit scents of most yellows

I suspect that the licorice fragrance may be more prominent in the warmer part of the season, and the citrus scent more prominent in the cooler months. In early December, 2016, I observed that both Sparkle and Shine and its parent, Julia Child, growing at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA, had a lovely lemon scent. However, when I smelled Julia Child in the heat of summer, I found that it had a distinct licorice fragrance (no lemon). Early December, 2016, was the first time I had smelled Sparkle and Shine, so I can't be sure. However, the month of your comment about Sparkle and Shine's licorice scent (August) and the fact that Julia Child is a parent leads me to conclude that the fragrance may change from licorice to lemon during the season.

This makes sense. I have smelled it a lot and it does vary between moderate to "I'm choking, possibly crying" lol.
I can say this since it is winter right now and its on my mind. This rose is very easy to winter prune, does not seem to get nasty winter die back (it finally broke the 'Brandy' curse after many generations...), and has very clean wood.

Just wondering if anyone growing this in Adelaide, South Australia? If so, how disease resistant is it and how big does yours grow?

There is a growing consensus among Southern California rosarians the this rose may be the best of several cluster blooming yellow floribundas introduced over the years. Atrributes include excellent sprays highly suitable for exhibition, richness and clarity of color, superb remontancy, vigor, an attractive bush and disease resistance. The old favorite among exhibitors, Golden Holstein, is a wee bit short on vigor. I prefer this rose over it's sister seedling, Doris Day.

Disease resistance there, based on the fair rating in the voting here though it seems its possibly location specific. I know its parent Julia Child is often praised online over there but its ugly and sick here (Sydney, Australia) as soon as summer temps arent killing disease.

Mine has SUPER strong scent. Like anise? Really strong. Far more fragrant than Sunsprite. But its a cold tender rose, and Sunsprite isn't.
