Bred by David L. Armstrong (United States, 1967).
Introduced in United States by Armstrong Roses in 1967 as 'Cadenza'.
Class:
Climber, Large-Flowered Climber.  
Bloom:
Dark red.  Mild fragrance.  Average diameter 3".  Medium to large, double (17-25 petals), cupped bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Habit:
Bushy, climbing, well-branched.  Large, semi-glossy, dark green, leathery foliage.  

Height: 10' to 15' (305 to 455cm).  Width: 6' (185cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 5b through 9b.  Can be used for cut flower, pillar or shrub.  Can be grown as a shrub.  can be trained as a climber.  heat tolerant.  suitable for a pillar.  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant.  Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom.  Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood..  Can be grown as a climber in mild climates.  Can be pruned to maintain a shorter habit.  Prune after flowering is finished.  Remove spent blooms only.
