Hybrides Remontants. Groupe E. — Général Jacqueminot
Les rosiers formant ce groupe, le plus important de tous, sont des arbustes de végétation vigoureuse, très florifères et portant beaucoup à fruit. Rameaux allongés, généralement gris; aiguillons nombreux, crochus; feuillage vert foncé, folioles ovales; floraison le plus souvent en corymbe; fleur forme en coupe ou chiffonnée, frisée, quelquefois globuleuse, coloris du rouge clair au pourpre noirâtre; fruits abondants, de forme plutôt arrondie.

Das Jahr 1860 auf 1861 war nicht so ergiebig an Neuheiten als 1860; in den Handel kamen blos 64 Sorten, worunter 4 Moosrosen, 2 öfterblühende Moosrosen, 2 öfterblühende Monatsoder Portland-Rosen, 9 Thea, 6 Bourbon, 41 öfterblühende Hybrid-Remontant-Rosen. Beachtenswert sind folgende:
11. Duc Decazes (Hybride, Touvais); Blume gross, gefüllt, kugelförmig, Kolorit sammtartig schwarz purpur, Kehrseite des Blumenblattes bronzirt.

The year from 1860 to 1861 did not produce as many novelties as did the previous season; only 64 varieties were introduced, of which there were 4 mosses, 2 repeat-flowering mosses, 2 remontant Portlands, 9 Teas, 6 Bourbons, and 41 Hybrid Remontant roses. The following are noteworthy:
11. Duc Decazes (Hybrid, Touvais); the flower is large, full and globular; colored a velvety blackish purple with bronzy petal reverses.

[In a list of best roses from France 1861-1865] The first [Duc de Cazes], though unsurpassed in its colour and size, opens badly, and too frequently yields a large proportion of imperfect flowers to only one good one. If it were constant...its place in the first rank would be indisputable.
