'Lady Bird' rose Reviews & Comments

Frankly, I ordered Lady Bird because I had a Jackson & Perkins gift certificate and a lot of other roses I wanted were sold out at the time. I haven't paid a lot of attention to it because it got a late start and never really got going good this past year. However, after the temps cooled in the fall, LB put out some of the most gigantic roses I've ever seen. Not only were they huge, they lasted a very long time on the bush. As of right now, I prefer Milestone in this color-range, but the sheer size of the roses on Lady Bird are enough to perk up interest for most. We will see how it does this next year.

I purchase LB from JP a few seasons ago, they were very small as fall roses, i was sent a replacement because the one looked very sickly and weak, it was dying, but it turned around, last season both roses begain to grow, now they are approx 6ft with beautiful blooms, i have noticed a slight scent, they are very long lasting on the vine and as a cut flower, as far as the disease resistance goes, its very resistant, iam experiencing lots of Black Spotting on all of my 125 roses at this time, and so far neither one of the LB have any(knock on wood), that will probably change since we are experiencing a week of rains. This rose is not slowed by the hot summer, it is winter hardy to zone 6 PA without any mulching, i have my roses planted in rocked gardens to deter the moles and voles from eating their roots. Im very please with its performance, beauty and the scent so far.
