Bred by Edouard Doriat (France, before 1931).

Class:

Hybrid lactiflora.

Bloom:

Carmine-red, silver(y) edges, purple shading. Large, double bloom form.

Habit:

Upright. Dark foliage.

Height: up to 30" (up to 75cm).

The peony in commerce is light pink. The 1943 APS registration says carmine-red. Possibly some confusion with 'Instituteur Doriat'.
