I recently purchased a variety called Nymphe. Not being a Peony expert, I still am convinced, that there seem to be two distinct varieties of Peonia lactiflora 'Nymphe'. The japanese style one as here in the gallery and a single soft pink one (actually the same pink, as the outer petals of the japanese one).

You are right. Single pink with golden stamens may be the correct one. The 1928 manual says pink, Japanese only.
