'Allegorie' rose Reviews & Comments

This is probably my family's favorite rose. I am not much into "Modern OGR" roses, like Austins, but I must admit this rose ticks all the boxes off.

Knowing how infrequently you hand out accolades, that's very high praise.

My personal favorite is 'Louise Hay', but I am so happy to find a "modern OGR" that has a manageable size, quite clear heavy rebloom habit, is fragrant, seems unbothered by very wet or high heat weather, and does not have disease. I think purists would want perfect quartered form, but that's their problem lol.

Fragrance holds up even in 104F weather, as does the color. So it seems unphased by heavy rain or high heat. This is Oregon at 300 ft above sea level though, so our 104F may not be as UV intense as 104F in the south. However, this still fries others in the garden.
I bought this rose because I was tired of how awful Austin reds were. Didn't bloom. Mildew. Blackspot. Giant plants. PLANNED SCARCITY. And so on. It was a good gamble.

Primary color is wine purple. Auxiliary colors are wine violet and wine crimson. Scent is very strong. Old rose and fruit fragrance.
