In the early 30's, Mrs. Keays collected approximately 150 varieties of roses, dating from 1596 to 1880, and grew them at Creek Side, her farm in southern Maryland. In Old Roses, she describes these roses and offers advice on collecting, identifying, and recording the older varieties.
