Mountain Music is a beautiful and hardy rose for me, it survived a long hard winter, leafed out early, and has put out multiple flushes of stunning blooms with beautiful fragrance. The blooms aren't wilting or curling even though some days have hit 101F. The bush is a great shape, very compact and not leggy, with nice dark green foliage. I have it planted in slightly acidic soil and it seems to thrive. Mine is own root from High Country Roses and I would highly recommend it as a cold zone rose.

Terrible downy. I have other Buck roses close by: Distant Drums, Square Dancer, Prairie Lass, Prairie Sunrise and Wanderin' Wind.
Prairie Sunrise and Distant Drums do get a tiny big of BS, but nothing to care about. Wanderin' Wind can get a little rust, but also nothing unsightly. But this rose, Mountain Music, is perpetually stripped of foliage by downy mildew. It's absolutely awful here.

This rose starts out stippled and wrinkled, then opens up to a beautiful, quartered and extremely strong scented surprise.
