A well-liked rose by most of the reporters. The colour attracts, very good for picking and floral work, repeat is good, very nice in the bud but the flowers fade out considerably, especially in the hotter weather. Flowers can ball in the rain and it can get blackspot, but on the whole it is healthy. It has an upright habit, vigorous, and the flowers come either in small clusters or singly. It has dark bronze foliage which complements the toffee coloured blooms. An interesting rose and something different.

Spek's Centennial (MACivy); McGredy 1991; 'Sexy Rexy' x 'Pot o' Gold'; bronze brown; 19 reports on 26 bushes; 1-4 years; 1.6 metres; 7.2 rating. Generally well liked by all the reporters, rating brought down by a very low one from Wairoa where it had been very disappointing. Bay of Plenty says great rose, long stems, good for cutting. Gisborne loves the colour but lost foliage in the summer, Central Hawkes Bay found the blooms rather small and the colour hard to group with other colours. Franklin says it picks well, upright habit, some black spot. Wellington says colour unusual, blooms often come one/stem. From Manawatu a sure to please rose, blooms come singly in the autumn, another report from Manawatu indicates nice colour bud fading occurs, healthy dark foliage, few clusters, useful rose for floral work and vases. West Otago loves the colour and shape. Southland says growth rather spindly, but colour good.

Spek's Centennial (MACivy); 'McGredy 1991; 'Sexy Rexy' x 'Pot o' Gold'; bronze brown; 10 reports on 15 bushes; 1-3 years; 1.3 metres; 7.6 rating. Further reports and all are favourable. Not widely grown as yet but a reasonable spread. A grower from Otago received a poor plant with the roots cut right back and so has had difficulty trying to assess. All reports like the coffee apricot coloured HT type blooms which last well when picked. The blooms often come singly on the stems. Southland says stems are weak and more basal production needed. The foliage is dark bronze to set off the blooms.

Spek's Centennial (MACivy); McGredy 1991; 'Sexy Rexy' x 'Pot o' Gold; bronze brown; 8 reports on 12 bushes; 1-3 years; 1.2 metres; 7.6 rating. Not many reports received on this bronzy brown HT-type floribunda. Plants are mostly healthy, some blackspot reported. Blooms are shapely and often come on single stems. Plants can be a bit spindly at times. Has good dark foliage to complement the flowers. Very good for floral work.
