'White Ensign'. Pure white, slightly flushed cream at the base of the petals. The flowers are very full, of medium size, and when well grown are of good shape. The growth is medium to good with a bushy branching habit. Faint tea scent. Recommended.

A Glossary of Roses
White Ensign (Hybrid Tea) is a very double high centred semi-globular white rose with a cream centre which behaves well in all weathers. Growth is vigorous, erect and branching and foliage glossy green, liable in some districts to mildew and blackspot.

Très connue et admirée en Angleterre, « White Ensign » est pratiquement une étrangère ici. La saison dernière elle me fit une surprise agréable. Sa fine contexture et sa forme sont exceptionnelles. Son parfum délicat est en plein accord avec le caractère de cette belle rose. Elle poussa avec une vigueur modérée et était munie d'un bon feuillage. Les fleurs paru rent jusque tard en automne.
