Bred by Louis Lens (1924-2001) (Belgium, 1988).
Introduced in Belgium by Lens Roses/Louis Lens N.V./Pépinières Louis Lens SA in 1996 as 'Plaisanterie'.

Hybrid Musk.  

Yellow and pink, lighter reverse, ages to rose-pink .  Mild fragrance.  5 petals.  Average diameter 1.5".  Small, single (4-8 petals), cluster-flowered, in large clusters, flat bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Small buds.  

Armed with thorns / prickles.  Medium, semi-glossy, reddish-purple foliage.  

Height: 6' to 12' (185 to 365cm).  Width: 6' to 10' (185 to 305cm).

USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Can be used for beds and borders, garden, hedge, landscape or shrub.  Can be trained as a climber.  shade tolerant.  Disease susceptibility: disease resistant.  Needs little care; relatively disease-free and quite hardy.

Plaisanterie is the name given to this rose by its hybridizer. Even though it was registered with the ARS as International Registration Authority For Roses, Plaisanterie has been sold in the USA under another name.
