Bred by George Paul (1841-1921) (United Kingdom, 1901).
Introduced in Australia by Roseland - B. V. Rossi in before 1912 as 'The Lion'.
Class:
Hybrid Multiflora.  
Bloom:
Crimson to carmine-pink.  Medium, single (4-8 petals), in large clusters, flat bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Climbing.  

Height: up to 6'7" (up to 200cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 3a through 3b.  Vigorous.
