We're having a wet summer. Artistry is in its 2nd bloom for the growing year. Spring blooms were their typical 4-5" size. These mid-summer blooms in this wet summer are 6". Like the size of Neptune, Pristine, Elina, or Proud Land.

This is a rose deserving of its AARS award. Very nice formed blooms with eye popping color are born on healthy plants. Comes back strong every spring in my Des Moines, Iowa (zone 5b) garden with just leaves as protection. Probably not the best show rose for the most part but an excellent garden rose. Always in bloom. Only complaint I have is it does not have enough scent - something I can live with.

It's one of the few good orange HTs. It's a good all-rounder. Bottom will get some BS, but that's common for the class. Very few are worth garden space, sadly. Very fat, wide plant, that stops about chest high on me.

Pretty sure the unknown grandparent in the lineage is Milestone. At least it seems that way.

The parentage, according to google patent, is JACbor x JACyo

JACbor is listed as patent # 6668. It was introduced in 1989 by William Warriner of J/P. It's parentage was Flower World x unnamed seedling. It states that it is some sort of red Hybrid Tea.

JACyo is listed as # 6443. It was introduced in 1988 by William Warriner of J/P. It's parentage was unknown x unknown. It is a Hybrid Tea that is orange with a pale yellow reverse.
