Introduced by Unknown in 1924 as ' Rosa setigera f. serena Palm. et Steyerm.'.
Habit:
Tall, arching, bushy, climbing, few or no prickles/thorns, well-branched. Medium, light green foliage.
Height: up to 10' (up to 305cm). Width: up to 8' (up to 245cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Can be grown as a shrub. can be trained as a climber. Needs little care; relatively disease-free and quite hardy.

Notes:
Rosa setigera 'Serena' is a thornless selection of the species, Rosa setigera, that is vegetatively propagated. Like the species, the canes turn deep wine red to black in exposure.
