Magazine (4 Jul 1908) Page(s) 452. Chinese Pæonies from Langport. Amongst the various specialities in hardy flowers grown by Messrs. Kelway and Son, Langport, Somerset, herbaceous Pæonies hold a prominent position. We are in receipt of a boxful of blooms cut with long stems, showing how suitable they are for filling vases and making up other floral decorations in the home. [...] A grand variety was that named Limosel, consisting of a semi-globular mass of rather narrow, more or less deeply cut petals, almost exactly the silvery pink colour of La France Rose. It was also distinctly scented.

Magazine (22 Jun 1901) Page(s) 408. Pæonies.—Messrs. Kelway have favoured us with a sample of their superb Pæonies. [...] Among the specimens sent to us are: Limosel.—A large double flower with pink petals, edged with white, the central petals narrower than the outer guard-petals.
Magazine (22 Jun 1901) Page(s) 686. Pæonies From Langport. A boxful of named varieties has reached us from Messrs. Kelway and Son, Langport, Somerset. [...] None of the double varieties was entirely white, though there were several pale and choice varieties. [...] Limosel differs from all the above in the curious formation of the flower. The outer petals are very broad and stand out boldly from the rest of the flower. These are followed by short and narrow petals, deeply fimbriated at the apex; then comes a series of petals of varying width, some entire and some of them deeply fringed, filling up the centre of the flower. On the whole, the bloom of this variety is very massive and conspicuous, so that it might please those who object to the formality of a regularly formed flower.
