Hi Paul,
Why is it named Little Butch? Its cute, regardless, but I am curious if there is a story to pass on?

February 2022: Honestly, I have no recollection of naming this rose. Its obviously just a nickname (its NOT a registered variety, and certainly not by that name) and I haven't a clue why it got called this.

Ah, I think this is the bloom you handed me in your greenhouse. If it is and I recall correctly, it turns a nice mauve with time. I thought it was cute.

I don't remember, Michael. Might have been. Not many other possibilities, really.

I'm curious how this escaped into commerce, as I have not shared this with anyone in the business.

Not moi. I didn't even use the pollen :) That was like? 2012? I am unsure what happened to Neil, but I know he didn't take it an accidental one with him. Hopefully it wasn't someone with Edward Scissorhands walking by... that's a yikes.

Oh pfftt I'm blind. Apparently you're saying someone shared it with RVR? I just noticed it has a known seller.

It got into RVR's inventory and now it's in Convivial Rose's catalog too. No idea how it escaped, since I didn't share it with anyone else.

You picked a bloom, showed me, I took it home, it aged. I thought it looked cool. I didn't even use its pollen because of ethics, so I don't know. But it wasn't me. I didn't even share the rose I emailed you a photo of because I thought it was unethical unless I transformed it at least one more generation. The one I bred out of that Shadow Dancer/Fingerpaint that was at death's door, and did die that following winter. You told me to save its genetics, and I did. Hell, I didn't even know I was going that day. The guy I was with was like we're going on an adventure and I was like cool where lol. I was helping him disassemble his factory at the time cause I was laid off, cause for some reason America thought variable loans were an amazing idea, and people like me in horticulture paid for their precious wisdom.
Anyway, I wouldn't even give Janet my dog's fart in a dime bag. They killed all of my test material before I even met you. I don't know who else did, but it was not via my fingertips. If anything, I'm still hoping RVR goes under so another nursery can further take its place. Like High Country.

I have been reprimanded online, for complaining about RVR, on the grounds that we must support our remaining nurseries. Maybe some folks can afford mislabeled plants and shipments sent to the wrong address, but I can't. I would also like to know what became of the Ashdown collection they bought.

Sorry, no - I didn’t mean to imply I thought you leaked it! I was just wondering out loud how this got out.

Okay. Thanks, Paul.
Nastarana: If they don't like/want it, they can edit or delete my post. I don't really care. I won't cry about it. I'm not going to lift a finger in favor of immoral deeds. I'm tired of abusive business practices.

Sorry, I do not have a list of nurseries that sell my roses. That's not something I have been tracking.
