Given that 'Chateau de Clos Vougeot' is still available, I think it would have been less confusing for a rose that isn't red to have received the new name.

Yes, but then it would not have been a marketing tool for the winery!

Yes, it is the largest Grand Cru Burgundy winery.

I learn something every day. Many wineries here produce both reds and whites, depending on what soils they have available.

The difference may be the size of the plots. Clos Vougeot is the largest in Burgundy with 51 hectares (124 acres)

Excellent rain tolerance and very vigorous. Flowers last more than 10 days with little colour change.
