‘Danse du Feu’. Large-flowered Climber. Known in America as ‘Spectacular’. Another product of Charles Mallerin raised in 1953. Parentage: ‘Paul’s Scarlet Climber’ x R. multiflora seedling. The buds are ovoid and the flowers are medium size, double with 30-35 petals and moderately full opening, cupped to flat, produced in clusters. Colour is orange-scarlet, and it is quite fragrant. Moderately vigorous, it will comfortably climb up to 8 ft and is one of the first of the truly perpetual flowering varieties, which are great improvements on the older climbers. Needs little pruning beyond removal of dead wood and twiggy growth. Awarded National Rose Society Trial Ground Certificate and Certificate of Merit.
