p20 ‘Danse du Feu’ is a most striking scarlet variety, flowering summer and autumn.

p94 ‘Danse du Feu’. Scarlet. 10ft climber. Vigorous; climber, with strong stems, but easy to train; healthy; foliage fairly abundant, glossy, middle to deep green; flowers scarlet to crimson, fading crimson purple with age; semi-double, with about 23 petals, loose centre, soon opening from good bud form to diameter 3ins; profuse summer flush, with good amount of later flower to autumn; flowers in clusters of about 7 both on side shoots and young main shoots; weather resistance fair; scent faint. Raised by Charles Mallerin, Isere, France. Introduced 1954. Parentage: ‘Paul’s Scarlet Climber x R. multiflora seedling. Name in USA is ‘Spectacular’.

Herself  Pearl pink 2 ft bush.  Moderately vigorous;  bush, upright, spreading out well; healthy; foliage fairly abundant, semi-glossy, dark green; flowers warm pale pink lightening to pearl with age;  double, with 33 petals regularly arranged, showing stamens, opening to three and a half inches diameter;  profuse summer and autumn flower, some between flushes;  flowers in heads of many blooms, well spaced; weather resistance good; sweet scent.  Raised by G. C. Vincent, Hemingford Grey, Huntingdon.  Introduced 1965.  Parentage 'Sweet Repose' x 'Ma Perkins'.

Vigorous; climber, with rather pendulous shoots; easy to train; healthy; foliage abundant, glossy, bright green; flowers pale peach pink, becoming lighter with age; semi-double, opening to 2ins diameter, with 20 petals, soon showing centre; profuse summer flush, hardly any flowers thereafter; flowers on side shoots growing from the wood of former years; often singly, sometimes 3 to a shoot, not often many more; flowers are thus well spaced on the plant with the bright foliage showing between them; weather resistance fair; faint scent. Raised by Barbier & Co., Orléans, France. Introduced 1903. Parentage: R. wichuraiana x Souvenir de Catherine Guillot.
