'ARObipy' rose Reviews & Comments

I have to say that this rose has blooms that are a nice white and great urn shape with hight center. I however do not like the small scraggley branches that make the bush unattractive and the blooms are on the small side for me and I do not remember any fragrance. The bush blooms in flushes and seems to have a long wait between flushes.

Re: Crystalline - Notes. Jack Christensen classes this rose as a Floribunda and says its parentage is: 'Deep Purple' x ('Ivory Tower' x 'Angel Face'). [The parentage is different in at least one other source and the US Patent for this rose.]
There is confusion between Valerie Swane and Crystalline. But I believe the notes above belong to 'Valerie Swane'.

You're probably right, Patricia. Jack Christensen's website does not support the note, which was been removed.

My Crystalline is now four years old. It has always had blight botrytis since it's first year, and I have finally been able to cure it's botrytis without breaking my bank account. I am using Captan fungicide which is relatively inexpensive powder I mix one TBSP per gallon of water. Now I get the crystal white beautiful blooms I have wanted all along. The blooms have a beautiful shape and good fragrance as well. It seems to handle my zone 5/6 winters with relative ease and now that it is healthy, I would recommend it to anyone wanting a good white HT rose. This rose has also been used extensively by hybridyzers as it sets hips easily and has a high seed count and germination rate as well. All-around this is a very nice rose to enjoy for many reasons.
