According to Botanica's "The Encyclopedia of Roses" 1998 ARC stands for "Arthritis and Rheumatism Council, and it claims this rose is hearty in zones 4-9.

I planted this rose last fall bare root, mounded with dirt. It survived three weeks of nights slightly below zero F and days not much above 15 F.
