20 JUN 14
This came in 2011 from Regan Nursery in California and it is one tough rose. I had bought a number of roses for landscaping our recently purchased very small farm, there were inevitable construction delays and eventually they were literally heeled in to the ground by our caretaker, packed in way too closely together (less than a foot apart) and left to survive, or not, without any care or water other than rainfall, for over two years. Amazingly given the brutal summer temperatures, five out of fifteen survived.

On a short visit late last summer I hand pulled weeds until I found roses, pruned off the dead stuff and installed a water system. It was too late in the year to fertilize.

This spring I waited until they flowered so I could identify them, cut them back & moved them. Because they had been planted so close together there was more root disturbance than I would have liked but, once again, Lunar Mist is a proven survivor.

Lunar Mist has strong thorny canes and full cupped old fashioned blooms. Here the scent is very sweet but light. I really look forward to seeing it next year when it is more established
