Showing both well-formed blooms, and asymmetrical ones. But I'm inclined to forgive a few imperfections on account of the smell, which is really sweet and powerful, and has a distinctive quality that no modern rose I have ever sniffed comes close to replicating. England, late May 2020.

Another picture of the strangely asymmetrical buds -- the asymmetry is pronounced enough that I doubt they'll develop into proper blooms. Not all buds on the plant are like this, thankfully. England, May 2020.
