Book (1936) p45. Mr. Alister Clark. Random Reflections. Amalia Jung is surely a gain, being very sweetly scented and a pleasing red fower well held. As Amalia won the Australian Cup this year at the autumn races, it will be to me easily remembered as the Amalia's year.
p107. John Poulsen. New Roses at Canterbury, N.Z. Amalia Jung.- Has given some good lasting blooms which are rather more full than usual and carry a good fragrance. The colour, however, is not dark enough to make it a worth-while red in our climate, and the foliage does not seem very persistent.

Book (1935) Page(s) 14. Harry H. Hazlewood. The New Roses of 1935. Amalia Jung (Leenders, 1933) is a strong-growing variety with 35-50 petals and rich, sweet perfume. It is described as a magnificent dark red Rose, but so far is dark red in the bud stage only, fading to carmine when open. It should prove a good garden Rose.
