I wouldn't call the fragrance strong. More likely average or faint.

This is the only hybrid tea I have in my garden, and I have no intentions of giving her company by acquiring any more of the sort. I find them too choosy and delicate for my preference, which is rather more focused on the bushy shrubs, climbers and fast growing ramblers. Now this one, however, is a different story. I planted my Dame de Coeur many years ago in a rather shadowy spot where she had to compete with a juniper bush of all things, now long dead by the way,and a number of other plants and ground covers for a meagre share of nurishment and sunshine. I think most roses would have given up on life and died, but she just kept on staying alive. Finally I took pity on her and planted her in another more favourable spot where she out of sheer gratitude started to thrive. With her amazing stamina and perseverance she has definitely done her best to question my idea of a hybrid tea. The beautiful red flowers are usually very large and longlasting. Moreover she has been practically dieasefree. So if you are looking for a hybrid tea with the above qualities, then don`t hesitate. Plant this one.

Rose holds up to heat very well. Temps in the 90s and 100s and roses stay put! Vicious thorns!!!
