Discovered by S. J. Pavitt (United Kingdom, 1858).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1873 as 'Climbing Devoniensis'.

Cream.  Strong, tea fragrance.  Large, full (26-40 petals), cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Notes:
'Devoniensis Clg.' sold by most nurseries in Europe seems to be 'Souvenir de la Malmaison, Clg.'. The ploidy possibly refers to the latter rose.
