Introduced in Germany by Victor Teschendorff in 1930 as 'Dr. Eckener'.
Introduced in United States by Conard-Pyle (Star Roses) in 1931 as 'Dr. Eckener'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1932 as 'Dr. Eckener'.
Class:
Hybrid Rugosa, Shrub.  
Bloom:
Golden-yellow, orange shading, salmon-pink center, yellow undertones.  Moderate, centifolia fragrance.  Large, semi-double (9-16 petals), globular bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:

Height: 4'11" to 8' (150 to 245cm).  Width: up to 6' (up to 185cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 5b and warmer.  Hardy.  very vigorous.

Notes:
Lloyd Brace of The Roseraie at Bayfields says this rose has a large nearly double pale yellow bloom with peach/apricot tones and a good scent.
Dr. Hugo Eckener (August 10, 1868 - August 14, 1954) was a famous captain of the dirigible Graf Zeppelin.
